Okinawan Movement & Mindfulness: Intro
Thursday Evening: April 4th (7:30-8:30pm)
Onsite @Mill-e-Moto
As an intro to this next series, I will be hosting a on-time class; space is limited to 6.

After this intro class we will begin the series and it will run for 8weeks; starting May 1st (more info here).

In Part 2 of this upcoming class we will:
-
Further explore the standing movements (JunbiUndo)
-
Practice traditional body strengthening exercises
-
Explore a form of body conditioning that strengthens the immune system and fascia/muscle layers (Kitae)
-
Learn a standing form of moving meditation (SanChin); foundational to the Okinwan martial arts
-
"Sanchin is deceptively simple in appearance. It teaches the foundation, including stances and breathing. Kanbun Uechi is quoted as saying, "All is in Sanchin." Sanchin (三戦): Literally translated as "three fights/conflicts". Usually interpreted as three Modes/Conflicts: Mind, Body and Spirit."
